Be an informed consumer – Know who can provider your Botox, Fillers and other treatments
In Nebraska, a licensed medical doctor may perform any non-surgical aesthetic procedure or treatment, conditional on having received the proper training.
Registered Nurses are allowed to work under the active supervision of a medical doctor or nurse practitioner but the work must be reviewed and “signed off on by the physician.” RN’s are permitted to offer Botox and non-ablative treatments, but are not approved to perform filler injections (Juvederm, Restylane). RN’s must complete training, and must receive proctored observation in performing these treatments.
Physician Assistants are more independent than RN’s, but technically have to be under the direction of a physician.
Nurse Practitioners are fully independent and do not need to be under physician oversight.

If you are considering a surgical consultation, then we strongly advise you to see a plastic surgeon. Please note that any medical doctor can call themselves a “cosmetic surgeon” and the training they have completed is much more limited that the years of training required of a plastic surgeon.
