Acne Scar Therapy
SkinPen is medical micro-needling, and it is used to stimulate collagen, remodel acne scars, treat hyperpigmentation and improve the appearance of the skin.
In Omaha Dr. Abbott uses SkinPen Precision. Make sure your provider only uses the only FDA approved device, known as SkinPen Precision.
We have performed hundreds of SkinPen procedures. This speaks to how effective this treatment is! Pictured are “Before” and “After” results reported with one patient who treated acne scars with a series of six SkinPen treatments. Individual results will vary from person to person, but we have seen positive results in almost all of our patients.
SkinPen can also improve the appearance of scarring from injuries (lacerations, car accidents), chicken pox scars and stretch marks.
Plan on spending 1 hour with us for each treatment. Treatments are spaced 1 month apart. The best results for acne scarring is a package of 6 treatments. Your investment for 6 treatments is $1,500. (This is less than the cost of one laser resurfacing visit).
SkinPen will cause redness of the treated area, that dissipates quickly over the next 2-3 days. After each treatment you will apply a special formulated serum the we exclusively sell, called “Peptide Booster”. It contains proteins (called peptides) that have been shown to enhance collagen production. Peptide Booster hydrates the skin and soothes any warmth or redness that you may have. Seven days after SkinPen, you add use of our “Vitamin C and E Serum” rich in Anti-oxidants. This serum is important for optimal results as Vitamin C must be applied to the skin to work as a co-factor in the production of collagen.
After you complete a series of treatments, any remaining scars may be evaluated for filler treatment. Contact Dr. Abbott for a free consultation to see if this option is right for you. Dr. Abbott will choose from a variety of fillers that do an excellent job of softening the appearance of scar tissue.
